Our scouring prices, as of October 31, 2006 are $3.00 per greasy (unwashed) pound with a 10 pound or $30.00 minimum..

Spinning & Plying Service Charges
Spinning service prices include blending, carding, drafting and singles spinning. Plying can be done with 2, 3 or more plies if desired. A separate charge will be made for plying. Please remember that a double ply 1200 yd/lb yarn is spun single at 2400yd/lb then plyed double to 1200 yd/lb. Price will be for single ply spin plus plying charge. Total charges for spinning and plying will be based on the weight of yarn we ship to you not on the weight of wool we receive.
There will be some loss during processing. For example, 30 lbs. of clean wool minus 20% will yield about 24 pounds of yarn. Small lots tend to lose more proportionately than large lots. We cannot guarantee exact yarn weights for lots under 10 lbs.

Custom Carding for Handspinners
Card Sliver: Your fiber picked open, carded and gathered into one continuous strand. Card sliver is approximately 50 yards per pound with random fiber orientation in the fiber bundle to produce a woolen type of handspun yarn. Our card sliver is wound into a neat round pile so you can pull it without adding twist.
Hand Spinner's Sliver: Further processing to produce a lighter weight continuous strand of 100-150 yards per pound. Fibers are drawn into parallel orientation for worsted style spinning by running the sliver through our pin drafter. Hand spinner's sliver drafts smoothly to facilitate high speed hand spinning and splits easily to spin finer yarns.
