Tapetes de Lana is a non-profit organization designed to promote cottage industry and rural livelihoods, while preserving Northern New Mexico's rich culture and heritage. Our work begins in the beautiful pastures in Northern New Mexico were sheep and alpaca graze. We spin these natural fibers and our talented weavers produce a variety of beautiful textiles in order to bring value to rural lifestyles. We have been relentless in our pursuit of funding to purchase equipment and materials and to pay our weavers. But our long-term goal is to be independent of outside funding, relying on the commitment of our staff and weavers to maintain our organization.
